I would like to create a PLE to share my previous experiences working in internet radio and interning at XM Radio with others. I want to work on a way to translate this experience into a way to improve my online learning environment at work with regards to podcasting and instructor audio segments in our classes. The purpose of my PLE will be to gather information about online audio and recording from various resources. I want to focus primarily on voices because that is what I am most familiar with and also what will benefit me the most in my job. I will look at blogs and podcasts and online videos and talk to the Learning Technologies department at my office to try to get more information and share using my mason blog. I want to be able to apply the knowledge that I’m learning through these various online resources. I would like to keep the blog fairly simple and straightforward, but have some concrete examples.

The background and characteristics of my target individual learner will be online curriculum developers and instructional designers who deal with audio in their class needs.  I want to help with bringing together resources so that it is easier for anyone to figure out how to do audio right the first time.

My content will contain audio and video links and allow others to contribute links and videos as well.

My format will be a blog.  The blog will allow me to post embedded videos and audio files to share easily. It will allow easy access to people who are interested in learning more about audio and video for online courses to find resources and also to interact through the blog.

YouTube, Diigo, RSS feeds, Twitter, and text will be mostly what is used within the blog.  The general interaction will occur through comments.
